On the night of 25 to 26 December 2025, around a hundred migrants of different nationalities took part in the Christmas party organised by Alarme Phone Sahara (APS) at the JNSDD AIKIN KASA central office in Agadez.
A large number of migrants are stranded in Niger in precarious conditions as a result of a repressive migration regime imposed by European Union states in collaboration with the governments of the Maghreb countries, many of them having been deported from Algeria, Tunisia and Libya.
For these nationals from various sub-Saharan African countries, many of whom belong to Christian communities, the migrants' Christmas celebration is one of the rays of hope in an often difficult and painful reality. For some of them, it was the first time they had been able to celebrate in peace after years of hardship on the migration routes.
Together, the migrants and the APS team members shared festive moments of joy and good cheer.
The Christmas party for migrants, organised every year by Alarme Phone Sahara in Agadez, is one of many efforts to assist people in need on their migration route.
