The kitchen has become an important structure for the APSTeam to get in touch with migrants, helping to build trust and provide information to raise awareness about their rights and opportunities as migrants.
As migrants in Agadez generally live with other people of the same origin, 30 people from one of these communities are invited for each kitchen.
Over the last few weeks, the team has organised 23 different events in Agadez, so that more than 650 migrants could benefit from the collective kitchen. It is not uncommon for migrants to pack leftover food for themselves or their friends, as it is never certain that there will be enough food in their accommodation.
