Since July 2020, the team of Alarme Phone Sahara (APS) in Agadez/Niger has been organising with great commitment every Saturday a collective kitchen for migrants currently living in the city of Agadez.

The collective kitchen is a practical answer to a situation in which many migrants and refugees are stranded in Niger and struggle for survival every day under very precarious conditions. This situation has been extremely exacerbated by the global corona crisis.

Seit Juli 2020 organisiert das Team des Alarme Phone Sahara (APS) in Agadez/Niger mit großem Engagement jeden Samstag eine Gemeinschaftsküche für Migrant*innen, die derzeit in der Stadt Agadez leben.

Die Gemeinschaftsküche ist eine praktische Antwort auf eine Situation, in der viele Migrant*innen und Flüchtlinge in Niger gestrandet sind, und täglich unter sehr prekären Bedingungen um ihr Überleben kämpfen. Diese ist durch die weltweite Coronakrise noch extrem verschärft worden.

At least 1089 people deported between 12th and 14th of November 2020. 

People who were deported report brutal violence and theft by Algerian security forces.

Another deportation convoy arrived in Assamaka on 8th of October 2020. Human Rights Watch (HRW) condemns the Algerian state's violations of the rights of refugees and migrants.

Alarme Phone Sahara (APS) Alarme Phone Sahara condemns the increased resumption of deportations and pushbacks from Algeria to Niger as traffic between African countries resumes.

On 4th of July 2020, the 1st Collective Kitchen for migrants stranded in Niger took place at the Alarme Phone Sahara office in Agadez.

As borders between African states are closed due to the Corona crisis, deportations and pushbacks continue and thousands of migrants and refugees are stranded in transit countries such as Niger. Protests arise while people complain about bad living conditions inside camps and mismanagement by the IOM.

A group of migrants from Mali who were deported from Algeria to Niger and who are stranded at the IOM Transit Centre in Agadez addressed the people, the authorities and the President of Mali with the request to facilitate their return home:
